Travel Clinics

Travel Health Services
Hartfield Surgery offers a travel clinic service run by our Practice Nurse.

General travel health advice and appropriate vaccinations are provided depending on your destination. Malaria risk will also be assessed and, where necessary, a private prescription for antimalarial medication can be issued.

Appointments
All patients must complete and return a Travel Risk Assessment Form at least 6-8 weeks weeks before travel.

Some vaccines need to be given well in advance to allow your body to develop immunity. And some vaccines involve a number of doses spread over several weeks or months. Appointment availability may be limited during busy periods.

The Travel Information Sheet and Travel Risk Assessment Form can be downloaded online or collected from the surgery. Once the completed form has been received, a telephone consultation will be arranged with the Practice Nurse to discuss your travel plans and vaccination requirements.

If vaccinations are required and available at the practice, a follow-up appointment will then be booked.

Travel Health Information
Not all travel vaccinations are available at this practice. In some cases, patients will need to contact a private travel clinic or a pharmacies offering travel services.
