All general medical services provided by this practice remain free under NHS regulations. Whilst GPs will always attempt to assist their patients, it is important to understand that certain services requested by patients fall outside NHS provisions. These include:

  • private medical certificates or insurance reports
  • legal reports
  • fitness to travel assessments
  • medical reports for insurance companies
  • accident/sickness insurance certificates
  • HGV licences and DVLA forms
  • holiday cancellation forms
  • letters to take medication abroad
  • driver examinations
  • “to whom it may concern” letters
  • certain vaccinations for travel abroad
  • dispensing private prescriptions
  • transferring private prescriptions to NHS prescriptions
  • private prescriptions for travel purposes

For a list of all our charges, please contact our Medical Secretaries.

We understand that some patients may require urgent non-NHS work. We will do our best to complete this work as soon as possible. However, please be aware that the time spent on completing forms and preparing reports takes GPs away from providing medical care to patients, which will always be our top priority. Therefore, we need to inform you of any fees in advance, and we aim to complete private work within a timeframe of six weeks.
