Non NHS Work and Private Fees

All general medical services provided by this Practice remain, of course, free under NHS regulations. GPs will always attempt to assist their patients, but it is important to understand that certain services requested by patients fall outside NHS provisions, these include:

  • private medical certificates or insurance reports
  • legal reports
  • fitness to travel
  • medical reports for insurance companies
  • accident/sickness insurance certificates
  • HGV licences and DVLA forms
  • holiday cancellation forms
  • letter to take medication abroad
  • driver examinations
  • “to whom it may concern” letters
  • certain vaccinations for travel abroad
  • dispensing private prescriptions
  • transferring private prescriptions to NHS prescriptions
  • private prescriptions for travel purposes

A list of all our charges is available from our Medical Secretaries.

We are aware that some patients may need non-NHS work completed urgently. We will try our best to complete the work as soon as possible. Time spent completing forms & preparing reports takes the GP away from the medical care of patients which will always have top priority. We therefore have to make you aware of the fees beforehand and we have a timeframe of six weeks to get private work completed by.
