Walk for your Health and Wellbeing.
Walking is simple, free and one of the easiest ways to get more active, lose weight and become healthier. Even a short burst of 10 minutes of brisk walking increases our mental alertness, energy and positive mood. Starting from the 7th August 2023, every Monday and Thursday there is a 30-minute free guided walk along Hartfield Forest Way.
Friday Café is a free Dementia friendly café at Kings’ Hall Withyham for who would like to socialise from any of the surrounding villages. It’s funded by donations and run by volunteers who meet every 2nd Friday of the month.
Tea, coffee and cake are served in the first half an hour with time to chat, followed by a memory provoking or craft activity for the next hour.
Withyham Parish Amblers meet once a month on Saturdays to enjoy gentle walks through the countryside. They explore various trails around the Parish, covering Groombridge, Blackham, Withyham, and St John’s. Group sizes vary from 10-40 people, and everyone is welcome to join. Walks coincide with the Community Café at Groombridge Village Hall, where you can enjoy a drink and a slice of cake afterward.
