Spring Booster Update 25/03/2022

Spring booster vaccines start this week in East Sussex.

Eligible groups for the Spring booster include:

  • adults aged 75 years and over
  • residents in care homes for older adults
  • individuals aged 12 years and over who have a weakened immune system.

The NHS will contact those who are eligible to make a spring booster appointment, so patients should wait until they hear from the NHS.
You will usually be offered an appointment around 6 months after your last dose of COVID-19 vaccine. Once invited patients will be able to book their appointments through the National Booking System either online or by calling NHS 119.

We are continuing to provide services as we have been doing throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. We are prioritising delivering of care and services based on clinical needs.
If you need medical advice or treatment, please ring us on 01892 863326 or, for non-urgent advice or treatment, visit our website and send us your query using our eConsult service.
Due to coronavirus, how you contact us will be different at the moment.  This is to limit face to-face contact whenever possible and help stop the spread of coronavirus.

When you phone or go online, you will be asked to provide some information about your healthcare need.  This will help the practice healthcare team assess the most appropriate way to provide your care, which may include a face-to-face consultation and ensure it is provided by the most appropriate person.  Face-to-face appointments are available to all patients where there is a clinical need.  The practice team will assess what is most appropriate for you and if you have a preference you can discuss this with them.

Online consultation requests for non-urgent help can be made at any time. They will be responded to as soon as possible, usually within two working days. Alternatively, visit the local pharmacy for clinical advice on minor health concerns.

For urgent issues or out of hours, you can also call the NHS on 111 or go online to seek NHS advice 111.nhs.uk

Booster doses may be given, from 6 months (182 days) after the second dose
Second dose appointments must be at least 8 weeks after the first dose – please ensure you have your second dose booked via the National Booking Service (NBS).

Missing or incorrect Covid-19 vaccination records

Vaccine Data Resolution Service (VDRS)

The Vaccine Data Resolution Service (VDRS) aims to resolve missing or incorrect vaccination records for people vaccinated in England or abroad, who have a current NHS number and are registered with a GP practice in England. If a patient believes they have missing or incorrect COVID-19 vaccination data, please ring 119 (option 1 then option 4) and ask the call agent to make a referral to the VDRS team. They will respond within five working days. Please note: 119 and VDRS call agents will not provide clinical advice.

Face Coverings in GP Practices

Face coverings are no longer required by law in indoor venues, however, NHS patients and visitors must continue to wear face coverings ( unless exempt) and follow social distancing measures in Healthcare settings. Please help keep staff and others safe.  We must continue to reduce the risk of infection.
