Carers

Are you a Carer?

Do you look after someone that couldn’t manage without your support? Do you provide care to someone who needs help because of their illness, frailty, disability, a mental health problem or an addiction, and they couldn’t manage without your support? If the answer is yes, then you are a carer.

If you look after a relative or friend, formally or informally, then please let us know as soon as possible. We can add this to your medical records so that our team are aware that you are a Carer.

If we know you are a carer we can:

  • Support you with any physical health issues related to your caring role
  • Invite you for a free flu jab each year
  • Talk to you about your mental health and the impact of your caring role
  • Provide you with general information and advice
  • Refer you to helpful organisations and services that can offer specialised information, advice and support
  • Offer you flexible appointments at times that suit you

If you would like some further information on services available to you, or could do with some support, our Care Coordinators can point you in the right direction. You can contact them by calling the surgery, or sending an email to [email protected]

You can find information about support and benefits for carers, including how to get a carer’s assessment on the NHS website.
